H. R. Coursen has published 22 novels, 30 books of po-etry, and 15 books of criticism. His adaptations of 14 plays by Euripides appeared in 2003 from Mathom. He has won awards from the New England Poetry Club, the Maine Poets Society, and Pushcart. In 1996, a poll con-ducted by Penn State University named him one of the 25 master teachers of Shakespeare in the 20th century.” A fighter pilot in the USAF in the 1950s, he is a member of Veterans for Peace.
