40% of students who enrolled in post-secondary education for the first time in 1995-96 had attended more than one institution. Over the past decade, about half of all college graduates had attended more than one institution. Much of the research on students who attended multiple institutions (MI) has focused on those who make a permanent transition from one institution to another. For the most part, previous lit. has not reported on the other ways in which students enroll in MI, including co-enrollment & attending another institution without transferring from the first institution. This study provides an overview of the extent to which undergrad. attend MI as well as the relationship between MI attendance & persistence, attainment, & time to degree. Illus.Peter, Katharin is the author of 'Road Less Traveled? : Students Who Enroll in Multiple Institutions', published 2005 under ISBN 9781422300121 and ISBN 1422300129.
