Richard A. Werner, born in Germany in 1967, received his training in economics at the London School of Economics, the University of Oxford, and the University of Tokyo. He has a decade of experience in the financial sector, including as Chief Economist at Jardine Fleming Securities (Asia) Ltd. and as consultant or researcher at the Asian Development Bank, the Japanese Ministry of Finance, the Bank of Japan, the Japan Development Bank, the Nomura Research Institute, and the former Institute of Economics and Statistics at the University of Oxford. Richard is presently tenured Assistant Professor of Monetary, International and Development Economics at Sophia University, Tokyo.
