Pathways for Inquiry

Marian L. Martinello earned her bachelors and master's degrees from Queens College, City University of New York and her doctorate from Columbia University's Teachers College. She has won university teaching awards in Florida and Texas and was named a Minnie Stevens Piper Professor in 1982. She helped to develop and directed the Interdisciplinary Studies degree and teacher certification program at the University of Texas at San Antonio, which places strong emphasis on inquiry learning. Martinello has long been an advocate of inquiry learning in the education of teachers and children. Her published articles and books speak to the foundations of inquiry learning and curriculum and instruction in interdisciplinary inquiry.
