Amy Gazin-Schwartz is Assistant Professor of Anthropology at Assumption College, Massachusetts, USA. Amy is particularly interested in studying continuity and change in rural settlement and relationships between folklore and archaeology, she edited a volume on this topic with C. Holtorf Folklore and Archaeology (Routledge, 1999) and is co-Director of a five-year project investigating medieval settlement in Strathnaver, in the north-west of Scotland, in collaboration with Glasgow University.Angele P Smith lectures in Anthropology at University of Northern British Columbia, Canada.
