V. Hale Starr (Ph.D., Communication Research, University of Iowa) is the president of Starr Litigation Services, Inc., a legal consulting firm. She is a founding member of the American Society of Trial Consultants, has been a member of the Society's board of directors for five years, and was the chair of the Society's Committee to Develop Professional Standards. She is a Fellow of the International Association of Ethicists, critical reviewer of Law and Society Review, and a member of the National Council on Public Polls, the National Forensic Center, and the International Communication Association Mark McCormick (LL.B., Georgetown University; LL.M., University of Virginia) is an Iowa attorney who practices primarily in litigation. He served 14 years as a justice of the Supreme Court of Iowa. He previously served as both a district court judge and an assistant county attorney.
