Cole Swensen is the author of eight previous books of poetry, most recently Such Rich Hour and Oh. Her collection Try won the Iowa Poetry Prize in 1998 and the San Francisco State Poetry Center Book Award in 2000. Her other awards include a Pushcart Prize, the New American Writing Award from Sun & Moon Press, and the National Poetry Series. She also translates poetry, fiction, and art criticism from French.
