By the end of 1448, Sultan Murad II is poised to invade Hungary, the only kingdom now standing between him and the rest of Christendom. Knowing about this, Sir Gregor Dahr Altair counsels the Regent of Hungary, Johann Hunyadi, to march against Edirne. But the young prince is held in the fortress, and the only way to see him is to enter through a secret tunnel known only to Ilea. During the escapade, Sir Altair learns of a plot to assassinate Hunyadi, and that Thor already left the city to join the Ottoman army.
