"Ican't believe it's already the first of November," Finola Elliott muttered as she scanned the entries in her electronic planner. There were only two months left before Patrick, founder and CEO of Elliott Publication Holdings and patriarch of the Long Island Elliott clan, retired and named one of his four children his successor to the magazine empire he'd built over the years.
