Discrete Surfaces and Manifolds

Li Chen is an independent computer scientist with a distinctive academic style. He is an associate professor in Computer Science at the University of the District of Columbia. He received his BS, MS, and PhD degree all in computer science from Wuhan University, Utah State University, and University of Luton, respectively. Many of his research contributions were reviewed by German Math Abstract and Mathematical Review including the work on Gradually Varied Surfaces, Definitions of Digital Surfaces Manifolds, lambda-Connected Segmentation, the algorithm for Optimal Hamming Code check matrix, tEC-MUED Code, the constructive algorithm for the basis of Abelian groups. He received the top 100 young scientists award: The award research fund of Chinese Academy of Science for Young Scientists in 1987.
