Deja 'Nam

The novel, Deja 'Nam, takes place in Vietnam, 1970, & innorthern Minnesota, ten years later. It is narrated by the main character, Jamie Lakes. It is a story of surviving in Vietnam, & learning to come to grips with it after returning home. Like many war veterans, Lakes experiences "flashbacks" that take center stage in his life after returning home. Deja 'Nam is the story of how his flashbacks are triggered, what they are like, & how they effect his life and the loved ones in his life. Deja 'Nam expresses the loving relationships between Lakes & some of the individuals he meets in Vietnam. There is humor & random acts of kindness, & it is a record of what went on there when there was no fighting.
