Henry Noltie has worked at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh since 1986, where his work has been both taxonomic and curatorial. His taxonomic interests are in the monocotyledons of the Sino-Himalayan region, especially the grasses, sedges and rushes. On these he has written numerous scientific papers and two volumes of the Flora of Bhutan.
