Jerry Pinkney is the illustrator of more than a hundred books for children. His exceptional art has won many awards, including Caldecott Honors and Coretta Scott King Awards and Honors. A member of the National Council on the Arts, Mr. Pinkney has also received gold and silver medals from the Society of Illustrators and has taught illustration and conducted workshops at universities across the country.
